FILM WORK

Some of my fondest memories were formed in the quiet chill of a Northside basement, while the Milwaukee humidity cooked the streets outside. Most kids were out until the streetlights came on, but I was inside, discovering the world through my father’s eyes.

My work today is a direct reflection of those summer nights. I watched a strong, burly man—my hero—shed tears during The Green Mile, root for Denzel in Training Day, and sit in quiet awe of Sidney Poitier. In those flickering shadows, I didn’t just learn about film; I learned how to feel. I learned empathy by watching his emotions, gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to be a creator and a human being.

This online cinema is my tribute to him and the city that raised me. He wouldn’t want anyone else sitting in his chair (sorry for the title, Dad—gotcha one last time), but he would absolutely want to share these stories with you. It was his way of unwinding after a long, hard day’s work, and it’s my way of honoring the kid from "The Mil" who never stopped dreaming.

I hope you feel the heart I’ve poured into these projects. Every time I finish a piece, I’m thinking of him.

Grab a cold Coke, settle in, and enjoy the show. Just as he would.

Btw, now you see where I get the mustache from.
